Overview

Flood disasters are complex situations. Responsible authorities, relief forces and experts have to answer a series of questions to come to their decisions: Which flood hazard scenario is to be expected? What is the status of vulnerability of people and objects in the affected areas and of critical infrastructure? Which intervention measures are possible to mitigate the impact of the hazard process? Which resources are necessary for these measures, and are they available (human resources, materials, time)?

VISDOM (www.visdom.at) integrates flood simulation, visualization and emergency measure analysis in one system to assist decision makers in answering these crucial questions.
