Event Summary

Thank you to all who came to Understanding Risk Boulder! The 3-day event was hugely successful, and we could not have done it without the community’s support and enthusiasm. We hope that you found it useful both in learning and in networking.

Vision: UR Boulder convenes the talent and expertise of Boulder and the region’s communities, scientists, technologists, and government to develop shared understanding of the challenges faced in building long-term resilience to natural hazards; the impacts of climate change; and develop innovative solutions to meet them.

Sessions: UR Boulder hosted 11 sessions to highlight key themes in Boulder and provide a forum where experts and non-experts can share information and develop strategies about the issues that matter most to them.

Tech Challenge: Connected local tech volunteers with area organizations who can benefit from them and offer 20k in contracts to develop open-source tools that can be shared by all.
