Show people that considering the socio-economic status of the affected population is critical to understand the severity of the event, but also to design the best prevention and response solutions and policies.

  • An introduction on why it matters. (Based on Unbreakable report)
  • A “training” on how to collect data on the link between poverty and disaster risk management, based on our case studies in Accra and Dar el Salam.
  • An example (and simple explanation) of how we can model these effects
  • A demonstration of how these considerations can be added into a risk assessment and used to inform decision-making. (Including a demonstration of the online platform)
