Bio
Diego Arias is a Senior Agriculture Economist at the Agriculture and Rural Development Unit of the Latin America and Caribbean Region of the World Bank in Washington DC. He is responsible for agriculture and rural development investment projects and technical assistance in the area of agriculture public policy and market-based responses to agriculture risk management. He has been with the World Bank since 2008, and previous to the World Bank, Mr. Arias worked for the Inter American Development Bank and the Corporacion Andina de Fomento. Mr. Arias has extensive experience in the agriculture and rural development sector of Latin America and the Caribbean, with a special emphasis in commodity and rural finance. Mr. Arias holds and MBA in Finance from Sacred Heart University in Luxembourg and a Masters in International Development from Harvard University.
