David, I would be interested in reading your book, as I am in the process of writing a publication on the perception of risk with respect to land use planning and the national flood insurance program in the US, so it is very relevant and interesting to me. I will look for it.
David~I will get you a list of my resources shortly (busy week) (email address?), and I'll also send you a note on the gentleman in Cologne. Thank you for the newsweek article you posted--I look forward to checking it out shortly. I'm excited you are a part of this group/discussion.Best wishes,Jessica
Sorry for the double comment-- i'm just rereading your post now, I'd love to hear about what you're doing with FEMA flood maps. I addressed that specifically in my literature review (how they might contribute to uninformed risk taking) and a couple of surveys brought up the flood maps.
Hi David: getting back to you about your questions related to presenting at the conference. Joaquin Toro (who is helping organize it) confirmed that the Bank will cover travel, lodging, and meals for presenters, but no honoraria. We would continue to highly welcome a presentation from you on something like "The Psychology of Risk: Why Risk is Subjective." I believe the panels will be on June 2. I have asked the question about a plenary session on this subject, but no answer yet. Hope you can come!
David, can you please send me an email address which I can share with Bank folks to start making logistics arrangements? Thanks!
Hi David,I'm sorry I had forgotten to send you the references you requested (used in the publication). If you can pass on an email address, I will gladly forward them to you. Cheers, Jessica
David~ great to meet you and I really enjoyed your talk. I only regret that I had to take off and we didn't get the opportunity to discuss further. But I look forward to being in touch. Best wishes and good luck with your new book! Let me know if you still want a list of references.Best, Jessica
