Empirical Methodologies for developing Disaster Risk Management Strategies in Vietnam

The project contained consisted of: 1) A Macro-assessment evaluating the performance of a new hazard database in measuring disaster risk, and 2) A national multi-hazard risk assessment of Vietnam. The risk assessment identified the influences of disaster-occurrence frequency through a methodology which capitalized on a newly available hazard database. The risk assessment had two outcomes: 1) Validation of a risk assessment methodology using an untested database, and 2) Recommendation of adaptation strategies for sustainable development.
