The project aims at supporting the Mozambique Government to develop institutional capability to manage disaster risk, support preparedness-enhancing strategic activities, and assist Mozambique in disaster management within the context of the country economy and growth strategies. Hazard, vulnerability and economic losses were all analyzed as part of a complete probabilistic risk assessment. The risk assessment will result in three outcomes: 1) A Drought and Flood Risk Atlas was prepared to display the risk distribution across geographical areas and administrative zones; 2) Inform disaster management planning; and 3) Contribute to raising awareness of DRM issues in country.
